A Journey To Space

Hello everyone! How are you all? Today, I am going to tell you a few facts on space. There are many things that we don’t know about space. What we do know is that it is enormous.

Space is amazing! There are more than a million planets. And more than a billion galaxies. It would take more than a century to travel the whole Milky Way galaxy.

The Milky Way galaxy was created about 14 billion years ago. Scientists call this the Big Bang Theory. Long, long ago there was nothing in space but dust. The dust started join together and suddenly collapsed after millions of years. Which created the milky way galaxy.

The Earth was formed about 4.5 billion years ago. But when the Earth was first formed it was hot, very hot. And it kept heating up because meteors which were hot kept hitting it. Then, after thousands of years later, the Earth started cooling down and created water. The volcanos erupted creating land. And the Earth is now called the blue planet.

Space is completely silent.
There is no air or atmosphere there. That means we need special suits to breathe in space and even if you scream on the top of your voice with a mike no one can hear you.

Did you know that there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on Earth? The Halley’s Comet was discovered by Edmond Halley in 1705. This famous comet was last seen in 1986 and is only seen once in every 75 to 76 years. So, the Halley’s Comet won’t orbit past the Earth again until 2061. Here’s one last fact for you one day on Venus is almost a year on Earth.

It’s time for me to go. I will leave you to think about this topic until I return with the next blog. Till then have a spacetastic time!
