Travel Tales: My Journey to America

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well. In this blog, I'm going to share one of my travel experiences. This time I travelled to America.

And by 'this time' I mean 3 years back. I was turning 8 that year. So, my family thought that this time we would celebrate it in America. Not only did we celebrate it in America but also in 2 other countries, India and France. I celebrated my birthday for more than 24 hours. You may be thinking if a birthday lasts for 1 day or 24 hours, how could I have celebrated it for more than a day.

Technically, a birthday lasts for 24 hours in each country but the time in each country differs from another. For example, if it is 6 p.m. in India it will be 8:30 a.m. in America. So, India is 9 hours and 30 minutes ahead of America.

Back to the trip. We were at the airport of India when I turned 8 at 12:00a.m. Many of my family members were wishing me at that moment. I truly very happy. As it was sleeping time, we slept in the flight when we boarded it. We woke up when the flight was landing and we were in France.

There were no direct flights to America. So, we had to stay there for an hour. Then, board the next flight. We didn't see the Eiffel Tower as we hadn't eaten our breakfast yet and it would take too long to go there and come back that our flight would have left without us. We ate our breakfast and played at the airport for a while before it was time to go. It was amazing playing over there. There were huge Jenga blocks and a lot more exciting things. After playing we went to the flight.

My sister and I took out out activity books from our bag and started doing them. The flight attendants were very generous. Once they got to know it was my birthday, they gave me a present and a card. I thanked with all my heart.

When we reached in America it was already evening. As my birthday is in the winter season, it was extremely cold there. We went to our cousins' house and freshened ourselves. On top of our clothes we wore our thermal clothes. We also wore our socks and mittens.

My aunt, uncle and cousins wished me 'happy birthday'. Then, we went to there basement. It was an awesome place. There was a ton of fun things to do and lot of games My cousin brother showed my sister and me a few of the games there. Such as bowling, toy vehicles and a lot more. While we were playing my dad and uncle were battling it out in a game of table tennis. After a few minutes it was time to eat dinner. We packed what we were playing, ate our dinner and went to sleep.

The other days on which we were staying there were just as exiting as this one. Such as one day we visited the Statue of Liberty. Well, that's all for now.  Well, that's all for now. See you another time with a new story, new adventure, new tip and a new moral. Until then, अलविदा(alavida), ವಿದಾಯ(vidāya), au revoir and bye.
