Exploring the Wonders of Poetry: A Guide to Different Types of Poems-3

Hello everyone! How are you all? This the continuation for the last two posts which were about the different types of poems. If you haven't read those I suggest you read them first then come back to this. In this blog, I am going to give examples of a few types of poetry written by me.

So, here they are:

Free verse-

A Visit to the Zoo

One day, I visited the Zoo

There was a big, black bear leaning towards a long brown trunk

And above the tree trunk there were light green leaves

A long giraffe is widening its legs to drink water from the wide pond

Will it fall

A furry lion is very furious as its fur is covered with flowers

Making it look like a girl

A big, fat elephant is running towards the buffalos and bison

To say have a great day

A green, spiky crocodile is extremely angry as other animals have

taken over his pond

Some long-beaked ducks are very happy as they have a big mouth to

eat big fish

A fat, grey hippo is mysteriously going into a big, big pond with its

small pom pom

A slippery snake is sliding into its slimy cave

Oh no the cave’s covered with slime

A black striped zebra is walking towards the big, black bear and the

small brown owl

To say have a busy day

A small brown bird is flying towards a big, brown lion

To say it's the end of this day.

Ballad-

If I Were a Superhero

If I were a superhero

I would be like

Batgirl, Owlette, Gekko

I could fly in the sky,

be invisible whenever I want

And I could be very fast.

I am already a hero because I am good and kind.

My costume would be shiny

But not slimy

My costume would be in blue

And I would find a clue

I would catch the villains

Who are billions

I am already a hero because I am good and kind.

If the bad's in the air I will fight it

If the bad's in the water I will fight it

If the bad's on land I will fight it

I would face the danger anywhere

And always be prepared

I am already a hero because I am good and kind.

- Aliya Nayaz

Limerick-

The Little Mouse

There once was a little mouse

The little mouse found a house

The house was big

The mouse also found fig

The mouse ate the fig and invited the cows to stay at the big house.

- Aliya Nayaz

Haiku -

My Family

My family cares

My family is my strength

Love your family

- Aliya Nayaz

Well, that's all for now. Stay tuned for my next blog to know the other examples for the last three types of poems. See you soon.
